Peanut Butter Mania

It started out simple enough. I made a Reese's peanut butter cake as a gift.  I also posted a Reese's peanut butter cake tutorial for that same cake.

Since then it is like "peanut butter" mania broke loose.

I made this little two tier for my family's birthday.

We have six family birthdays in September.  Is that crazy or what?

It is a white chocolate cake. The tier sizes are 7 and 4.  Each tier had only two layers of cake and one layer of peanut butter buttercream.

It is covered with white chocolate ganache.  I added some milk chocolate ganache drippies along with some gold sparkles.

I added the white chocolate mini Reese's cups and topped each one with a little more chocolate ganache.

This cake was really, really rich.  I doubt anyone ate more than the standard "party size" serving.

I made of batch of peanut butter cookies and used up the remaining buttercream.

Then I swirled some chocolate ganache with the peanut butter buttercream.

This cake is dark chocolate cake and filled with the Reese's peanut butter candy filling - sorta like what you find inside of an actual Reese's cup.  It is 3-layers of cake with 2-layers of filling.

The outside is covered with peanut butter buttercream with some chocolate jimmies.

I swirled white chocolate on top along with the regular size Reese's cups.  The swirls are a combination of both, peanut butter buttercream and white chocolate ganache. One the top, there is white chocolate drizzles.

Who can resist krispie treats!  I added 1/2 cup of peanut butter to the marshmallow mixture and tossed in a 1/2 cup of Reese's Pieces.  Drizzled the top with a little white chocolate and a few more candies.

The final cake of the peanut butter mania, so far, is another white chocolate cake filled with peanut butter buttercream.  It was covered with chocolate ganache with white chocolate ganache drippies.

This cake should have been been covered with white chocolate ganache but for reasons unknown to me - my white chocolate ganache failed me.

In case you are wondering, THIS is what failed white chocolate ganache looks like.  I made two batches and let it set but it never did come to the proper consistency.  I added more white chocolate, allowed it to set once more but nadda.  It wasn't going to happen.

You don't want to see the rest of my kitchen after this.  No, you don't.

Last up are these chocolate cupcakes topped with peanut butter buttercream and a bite-size Reese's cup.  I added a bit more buttercream to the top of the Reese's cup along with a few sprinkles.

I must say everyone loves peanut butter.

The bite-size Reese's cups are my favorite candy of all times.  You don't really want to know how many I can eat once I open the bag.

Just like the candy, the peanut butter buttercream is very addicting.

There is just "something" about peanut butter.  Who can resist.

Speaking of little mini candies.  On Sunday I purchased a bag of mini M&M's.  I haven't had those in years. I have plans to make these crazy cookies that have mini M&M's, chocolate chips and of course, peanut butter.

The bag of mini M&M's somehow got opened and oh my - those are so good too.

Cake, buttercream and good candy.

It makes perfectly good sense.

Do you bake with lots of candy?

Fall is in the air.  FINALLY.  Lots of beautiful color is well on it's way.  I can't wait to share some photos with you of my beautiful home town.

Thanks for stopping by....
