Vintage Tupperware Party

A few weeks into the New Year, I went into major "funk" mode. This has happened to me a few times in the past. When the Winter funk comes on it happens fast and hits hard.

The excitement of the Fall and holidays were gone and to be honest, I didn't know what to do with myself. I tried to keep busy with hobbies and this and that but I had a semi-sad feeling going on and a bit of boredom.

You know how it is. It can bring on the lazies too. The couch turned into my best friend. No motivation to do anything. I hate when this happens.

Let's Decorate a Cake

Hello. My name is Donna and I am an addict.

A cake addict.

The last time I checked there was no cure. I admit, I don't check often.

Oh well.

When there is no cure, I deal with it by making and eating more and more cakes.

Oh well. Oh well. Such is life.

Water Color Cupcake Tutorial

"The world is but a canvas to the imagination." -Henry David Thoreau

One of my most popular cake flavor is "Happy Cake."

Everyone loves it - especially the kiddos. It is a simple white cake batter, flavored with almond and/or vanilla with 1/2 cup of colorful jimmies mixed in.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cake Tutorial

My favorite candy is Reese's Peanut Butter cups.  Not the new "mini's" and not the full size candy bar.  I like the little guys.  The bite size ones that are individually wrapped.

Wanna know why?  If I eat the bite size, it doesn't count so I can eat as many as I want.

The full size candy bars?  I never touch them.  Way too many calories.

Buttercream Ranunculus Roses Tutorial

I love the simple things in life.

The older I get "simplicity" is where it is happening, baby.

All. The. Way.

When I discovered how to make a simple buttercream ranunculus rose, I was ecstatic.

Can you hear me jumping up and down with excitement?

I am.

If you are like me, you always under estimate the time it takes to make a cake.

How to Make Photo Tabletops

Sometimes things are just not as they seem. That's mostly how life rolls.  You just never know.

I have seen some really cool tables in food photography lately.  I wanted one, or two, or all of them but....there is just no room for numerous kitchen tables in my house.  I have assumed that all the tables I have seen in food photography were actual tables.

I was a big dummy.  Yeah, I know that is hard to believe but yes, people, I was.

How to Make Buttercream Butterfly Cookies

I have received hundreds of emails asking me how to make the "Butterfly Buttercream Cookies."  I mean, people are begging me, stopping me on the street and calling me at all hours during the night.  I finally found a few extra minutes to share this with you.  Maybe all the "noise" will settle down after this and I can finally get some much needed rest.

How to Make Fondant Leopard Spots

I love the look of animal print cakes so imagine how excited I was when Jennifer called and ask if I could make her daughter a leopard print cake.  I have never made a leopard print cake so I was super excited.

I immediately imagined "fondant" and "hand painting." Jennifer was thinking more along the lines of "buttercream" and "budget." Oh no.
